What is needed to write about Writ accurately, in one place.

The facts

Name	Writ. Capital W, no article, never "Writ app".
One line	Notes kept as Markdown files, with links and a graph, and an MCP server so the assistant you already use can read them.
What it does	Keeps every note as a Markdown file in a folder you can open. Wikilinks, backlinks, tags and properties are read from the files; a Connections panel and a graph show them. Markdown, HTML, Mermaid and KaTeX render beside the source. One hotkey brings the window over any app. An MCP server lets a program the user approves read, and separately write, notes; a chat pane sends only the notes the user attaches.
Platforms	macOS 12+, Windows 10+, Linux (x86_64).
Price and license	Free. Open source under MIT.

Built with	Rust and Tauri 2 for the shell; SolidJS and CodeMirror 6 for the editor; SQLite for the index.
Privacy	Offline, no account, no telemetry. Rewriting, chat and connected programs are off by default; the first send to any host and the first call from any program wait for the user's approval.

"Notes on disk", "notes as files", "a notes app". Not "markdown editor" as the headline, and not "IDE".
Next to Obsidian, not against it: Writ opens a folder written in Obsidian as it is, and has no plugins, mobile app or sync.
No performance numbers have been published. Please do not cite one.
